Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind rollercoaster is ready to
open at the end of this month (May 2022). 

Located next door to Spaceship Earth at EPCOT® Orlando, this new rollercoaster
adventure takes the place of the retired Space Mountain ride.

Guardians of the Galaxy: – Reverse Launch

“Reverse launch” means that guests face backwards as they are rocketed forward at the ascent of the ride.
This is the first rollercoaster with “reverse launch” at a Walt Disney World®, Florida park.  

Definitely not the first time Disney® has used reverse technology though.  It’s “Everest” ride at Animal Kingdom®, has a section where the coaster travels backwards.

Fans of the Guardians of the Galaxy movies will love this exploration adventure to Xandar.
The waiting areas have plenty of special effects and guest appearances
and the rollercoaster reaches speeds of 39 mph. 

There are no upside-downs or sudden drops, however each car is capable of rotating a full 360°.
This keeps the rider facing the action at all times.
