Visitors are excited about the introduction of an inland surf-park. The state-of-the-art pool will be built in between Winter Garden and Clermont, which is northwest of Walt Disney World®, Florida. The plan is to convert a former construction landfill site. This will beautify the area and will boast a 13-acre pool, which will be surrounded by an artificial beach. The pool is set to be 14 feet deep and will hold up to 35 million gallons of water.
The main attraction will be the patented wave pool, designed to satisfy even professional surfers, according to the company. However, the facility will be open to the public, so newcomers to the sport will be able to try their hand at surfing in complete safety.
Surfing is an extremely popular sport but is not easily accessible. Most enthusiasts head to the Atlantic coast to “hang-10”. However, even Florida’s wonderful east coastline cannot guarantee that the weather and conditions will be right for the perfect wave.
In addition to surfing, the Orlando Surf Park will have sand volleyball courts, a pavilion, tiki bars, cabanas and a surf shop.
