Location
Solterra is located amongst fields and lakes but conveniently only five minutes from Interstate 4 which is the East/West arterial route for everything in Orlando. A short drive and you can access all the fun of the Disney parks, a little further and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and everything else Universal/Islands of Adventure has to offer, plus of course Seaworld, International Drive and Restaurant Row.

Solterra has some of the area’s best facilities and it is all free when you stay there, no daily resort fee! The super modern and beautifully furnished clubhouse has a fitness centre with TechnoGym equipment and more than enough stations to ensure a thorough workout, plus there is a community trail, perfect for running/skating/biking. Opposite this is a comfortable lounge area where you can grab a coffee, watch a little TV and can also be used for private events. The covered, comfortable seating area poolside has TVs and an open fire for those evenings when it’s cool enough. The pool is zero entry, so perfect for younger children to paddle safely and there is a water slide for super slippery fun. There are plenty of private cabanas available poolside, as well as sun loungers and a jacuzzi. The newest additions to the resort are the lazy river and poolside café serving drinks and meals all day. Out front of the clubhouse there is a 5-a-side football area, a sand based children’s play area and to the rear there are tennis courts.

The Champions Gate golf course is located only 5 minutes away by car and boasts two Greg Norman designed 18-hole courses, set amidst Florida’s natural greenery. Also, at Champions Gate you will find several eateries, a grocery store, salons, banks, gas stations and coffee shops. The Posner Park open air mall is only 10 minutes away and features eateries, a sports store, clothing stores, books, jewellers, a Target, J C Penney, Petsmart, book store and a Cinépolis movie theatre. Like pies? The Proper Pie Company, just off the US 27, makes amazing British pies, sausage rolls and scones and also stocks a range of British goodies. Get on Interstate 4 west and about half an hour in the car will bring you to Dinosaur World – a must for all dinosaur enthusiasts. Interstate 4 is also the road you will take if you fancy a trip to either of Florida’s world class beaches.
