The Lion King (2019)

It’s star stunning cast includes a mix of veteran actors and newcomers.  Mufasa will be reprises by the beloved James Earl Jones; while Alfre Woodard will be the voice of Sarabi, Simba’s Mother and Queen of the Pride Land.  Donald Glover will voice adult Simba while newcomer JD McCray will be young Simba.  Another notable name that fans are excited to hear is songstress Beyonce Knowles- Carter as Nala, her voice is set to bring a different dynamic to the film. So…what can we expect you may be wondering? While they do include some of the classic scenes, this isn’t your 94 film. Like all Disney’s live action films they’re much longer, and go into more details giving background on events that shaped the characters. Visual effects also played a huge role into the remake. The Moving Picture Company, the lead vendor on The Jungle Book will provide the visual effects. Jon Favreau who is responsible for Marvel Cinematic Universe films is the director and producer. While the movie has yet to be release critics have already given the film mixed reviews. With some praising the visual effects and vocal performances, and others criticism comes from the lack of original story line, and physical emotion from the animated characters.

Whether you will love it or it doesn’t live up to the hype, it’s definitely a must see.
