Animal Kingdom with Auntie

I spent a day at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park with my Auntie this week and had an amazing experience While I was there, I learned some top tips that might be helpful for guests going to the park during their stay to use so they can have a magical, fun-filled day at Disney!

PRO-TIP: GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR DAY BY PURCHASING LIGHTNING LANE MULTI PASS!

Before we even got to the park, I purchased a Lightning Lane Multi Pass for my Auntie and I on the Walt Disney World app at 7. This pass let us choose 3 rides to skip the regular line at during a 1-hour time slot in the day. We chose some of the bigger thrill rides for this as we knew they would have longer queue time throughout the day, we managed to get slots for Na’vi River Journey, Dinosaur and Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain in the afternoon.

PRO-TIP: USE THE DISNEY APP TO PLAN YOUR DAY!

The Disney app was a great tool as it helped us to plan our day and meant we could spend the morning at other attractions since we were booked into the big rides later. Another benefit of the Lightning Lane Multi Pass is that once we had checked into one of our booked rides we could then book onto a different ride or experience in the park – so a top tip is to keep refreshing the app once you have checked into a ride to see which time slots are available for other attractions in the park! The Lightning Lane Multi Pass definitely helped us make our day more magical for a reasonable price so if you are heading to in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, I would recommend purchasing it for your party to help organize and structure your day with ease.

PRO-TIP: NEWER RIDES REQUIRE A LIGHTNING LANE SINGLE PASS!

However, the Avatar Flight of Passage attraction isn’t offered in the Lightning Lane Multi Pass instead you need to purchase a Lightning Lane Single Pass to fast-track the queue on this ride. If you are looking to save money at the park I would recommend waiting until after 2pm to try this ride as this is when the busyness and queues in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park start to lessen as some guests will be park-hopping to a different part of Disney.

PRO-TIP: VISIT THE ANIMAL ATTRACTIONS EARLY IN THE DAY!

Since my Auntie and I had ride slots booked for later in the day we choose to start our morning with the Kilimanjaro Safaris at around 8.30am, this was a perfect time to do this attraction as it is cool enough that many animals are roaming, and you can capture some great pictures so I would definitely recommend heading straight there once you get to the park. We were very lucky to see so many species like rhinos, elephants, lions and zebras to name a few. This ride also has great tour guides who provide you with facts about the animals as you ride past them so this can be an interesting attraction for anyone with a passion for different types of animals.

After the safari, we went to the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail on this walk we saw lots of gorillas and other types of apes playing and eating and we were able to take some amazing action shots of them, this was a great addition to our day and if you have some time to spare at the park you should check it out! I would, again, try to go there in the morning to maximize your chances of seeing as many animals as possible.

We saw a couple of shows while at the park, in the morning we watched Festival of the Lion King and in the afternoon, we got to see Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond! Both shows were incredible and a great way to take some time out of the blazing Florida heat to relax and enjoy some very talented singers, dancers and showmen. The Festival of the Lion King show was really fun it had some audience participation and some amazing dancers, my Auntie and I were honestly in awe at some of the performers’ tricks! The Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond! had spectacular singers and would be a great show to take Nemo fans to. Both shows had some very cool animatronics that I couldn’t take my eyes off of!

PRO-TIP: BRING YOUR OWN WATER BOTTLE TO STAY HYDRATED!

One of the most important things to remember at parks is to stay hydrated which is why my next tip is to bring a water bottle with you to the park and fill it up at any drinking fountain to save money on buying a fresh bottle of water every time you are thirsty.

Overall, my Auntie and I had a fabulous day at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park from start to finish and hopefully some of these tips can help you and your party do the same if you visit the theme park!
