FALL IN FLORIDA

September is here and with it will shortly come cooler Fall temperatures and lower humidity.  Anyone who lives in Florida will be breathing a huge sigh of relief!!   The arrival of Fall also means festivals, carnivals, pumpkin patches and a whole host of other seasonal entertainment in the run up to Halloween.  The cooler temperatures and sunny blue skies make this time of year perfect to book a rental villa.

The biggest of the fall festivals is of course the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival®, which (this year) runs from July through November.  Sip, taste and stroll your way around the world.  The month of September sees Magical Dining return to select restaurants in and around Orlando.  For a fixed price you can choose from a three course, set menu of delectable eats. The Craft Beer Festival at Seaworld® (“where hops meet drops”) runs weekends until September 20th and features 100 domestic and local craft beers, along with over 20 food items to match your choice of brew.  Food & Wine Weekends at the Waldorf Astoria® run from September 13th through November 24th.  Celebrate all that is culinary including a traditional Royal Tea, Bar du Chocolat with champagne, and La Pâtisserie: Master Pastry Class, among others. The hotel will be offering tasting dinners at their three signature restaurants, Bull & Bear®, La Luce® and Zeta Asia.

Busche Garden’s 21st Howl O’Scream will run this year, although the format will be significantly different.  Open air scare zones, limited capacity and reservations will be required.  Seaworld’s Halloween Spooktacular will run weekends from September 19th through to November 1st.  Kids can wear their favorite costumes as they collect bundles of candy from the many trick or treat locations around the park.  Legoland Florida’s Brick or Treat will run weekends from October 3rd through 31st.  Kids can enjoy safe, neighborhood style trick or treating as well as seasonal shows and of course their favorite Lego characters.  Festive Fall Fun at Disney’s Magic Kingdom®.  For the first time ever guests can wear Halloween costumes as they enjoy all that the park has to offer.  Lit pumpkin wreaths, glowing jack o lanterns and of course your favorite Disney characters in the themed Halloween cavalcade.  However, this year Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween® after hours party is cancelled.  The Haunted Road: A Drive Thru Halloween Experience will run from September 25th through November 7th.  Orlando’s first drive through Halloween experience, a completely contactless haunted experience.  Family friendly as well as adult only versions available.

Come out with Pride Virtual Festival is normally held at Lake Eola Park in Downtown Orlando. However for 2020 this festival will be held virtually, featuring special guests, variety performances, interviews with local personalities, a virtual 5K, drive in movie night and one of the biggest car caravans.  15 mile motorized version of the famous Come Out With Pride Parade.  Orlando International Dragon Boat festival.  Over 70 teams will compete, plus food trucks, beer tent and much more.  Entry is free!!

Whichever event you decide to visit be sure everyone in your party wears a mask and observes social distancing.  Many of the parks have altered shows and some rides are even cancelled.  Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights® and Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween® are cancelled.
